Cost-share funding is available for landowners and organizations working to improve the health of local rivers and streams. Eligible projects may include:

  • Streambank stabilization (e.g., toe wood structures, riprap, vegetative plantings)
  • Livestock exclusion fencing near sensitive streambanks
  • Installation of native riparian buffers
  • Erosion control in nearby upland areas contributing to sedimentation

These efforts help reduce erosion, protect aquatic habitats, and improve water quality.

Shoreline Restoration Policy
We know policies and requirements aren’t always the fun part - but they’re essential for ensuring shoreline and stream restoration projects truly support water quality and long-term conservation goals. These minimum standards make it possible for us to partner on projects that not only protect the beauty and function of our land and water resources, but also support wise, sustainable use that meets the needs of local landowners while helping build a more resilient watershed.
